Pinups - Beach Legs by warbirdphotographer
Pinups - Beach Legs
Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Brittany in this minimal classic pinup look. Going back to the roots of the classic 1940's style pinup often featured in magazines such as Esquire or True Magazine, these minimalistic pinups by George Petty and Vargas featured mainly one thing: the pinup. While the gals could have some props like telephones, household items, etc; these pinups were the classic masterpieces that defined the pinup era. These pinups were the source for thousands of nose art paintings on World War 2 aircraft.

Pinups - Perfect Aim by warbirdphotographer
Pinups - Perfect Aim
The first EVER Behind the Scenes VIDEO demonstration of how this Dietz Dolls pinup came together will be posted later today!

Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Kayla in this awkward moment of perfect aim! Some would say the knife thrower missed his mark or that he got too close and endangered his assistant... but in this case perhaps the knife thrower had perfect aim much to Kayla's dismay!

Pinups - Bomber Brunette by warbirdphotographer
Pinups - Bomber Brunette
Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Samantha in this minimal classic military pinup look. Here Samantha is wearing authentic WW2 bomber crew gear including a B-3 Jacket, 50 Mission Crusher Cap, and B-1 flight pants (which were often used by air crews but meant for mechanics).

Nose Art - 'Easter Delivery' by warbirdphotographer
Nose Art - 'Easter Delivery'
Happy Easter everyone! Here's something a little different for a special Easter Pinup... Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Alisha in another of the ongoing WW2 Nose Art Pinup series! Calling on the classic Vargas style pinup that would often adorn nose of Fighters/Bombers or the backs of bomber jackets during World War 2. This particular WW2 Pinup Art represents the Army Air Force with Alisha and the Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress.  Nose Art and Jacket Art were often very colorful and not only represented the aircraft the person was assigned to, but also what squadron or overall group the person was with.

Propaganda Pinups - Join the US Army Air Corps by warbirdphotographer
Propaganda Pinups - Join the US Army Air Corps
Today's pinup is another in the Airbrushed Propaganda Pinup Poster series featuring Kayla in this call to join the US Army Air Corps! The Army Air Corps (USAAC) was founded in 1926 having been renamed from the US Air Service during World War 1. In the early 30s the Army Air Corps had about 1,600 aircraft in inventory with very early monoplane fighters. By 1941 with the threat of war on the horizon, that number had grown to over 6,000 aircraft. The AAC name lasted through the peacetime between the wars and into the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. It wasn't until March of 1942 that the Army Air Corps was renamed to the Army Air Forces and became a fully structured arm of the US Army not only providing ground support but also independent operations.

Want a print or large size poster of this Army Air Force Pinup? You can order one now on the Dietz Dolls Online Store: www.dietzdolls.com/catalog/pro…

Ever been to Oshkosh, Wis. the big air show? If not, I highly recommend it. It's been years since I've gone to it (early 80's). I believe it's still has the largest gathering of war birds in the world, from WWI-present.
I will have to stop back by and browse your work!
