Pinups - Army Air Corps Stearman

Another 'Aviation Pinup Series' pinup featuring Ashley and one of the most recognized trainer aircraft in all history... the Boeing PT-17 Stearman. With over 10,600 aircraft built during the 1930s through the 1940s, the Boeing PT-17 Stearman is one of the worlds most beloved trainers in all aviation history. This biplane was the primary trainer for the US Army Air Force and the Navy in World War 2. With tandem seats for a student and an instructor, the Stearman cost about $11,000 at the time and could hit a top speed of 135mph. Stearmans were used in 20 different countries and ended the war to be widely sold to the civilian world for use as crop dusters, aerobatic/wing walking aircraft, and general leisure aircraft. Today there are many Stearmans still in operation around the world. This is a new 'simple' type of aviation pinup that I'll be doing more of in the coming months using Army Air Force, Navy, and Marine aircraft ranging from fighters to transports to bombers. Each will feature a pinup with an aircraft and the matching US insignia for that aircraft. The background will also be themed to the aircraft's general colors.
