Pinups - Infantry Support

Description

Today's airbrushed style pinup photo is another in the Nose Art series... but this time a 'what if' nose art. While Tank crews would often name their Tanks and perhaps the occasional pinup or other drawing might adorn the side of the Tank; it was pretty rare to find (if even at all) an American Tank all decked out with Nose Art, kill markings, and pinups like the Fighter and Bomber aircraft had. So, what if a Sherman Tank crew had decided to mimic the Army Air Force style of Nose Art? Here's one possibility with Anna and 'Infantry Support'. Panzer kills and 75mm shells representing important targets hit complete this 'what if' Sherman Tank Nose Art!

This is a bit "mixed influences" I'd say.

The idea of "fire missions" and "kills" markings are more navy than army or air force, and the navy would normally apply them to a flag flown on return to port after the cruise they were won during. This is particularly true of the Royal Navy submarine service, who would apply their markings to a "jolly roger". So this idea might work better with a flag background?
