Propaganda Pinups - Women Workforce

Continuing the Propaganda style pinup poster series with a tribute to the massive women workforce during World War 2. When the hundreds of thousands of men needed to fight World War 2 departed for the European or Pacific theater, a massive shortage of workers to build the industrial might of the United States called on the women who were left behind to do something unprecedented at the time: join the workforce. These women jumped at the change to build bombs, tanks, vehicles, ships, aircraft, and so much more. Without the huge calling for thousands of 'Rosie the Riveters,' the incredible industrial might that supplied the soldiers with hundreds of tanks, ships, and airplanes a week could not have happened. These unsung heroes of the war kept the factories going well into the evening when the job was needed. It could be said that this monumental change in the gender roles, even if temporary for the war, forever changed the mindset of women doing a man's job and started a movement which would abolish that stereotype forever.
